Chevrolet Corvette C6 may be graying at the temple these days, but like George Clooney, it's still as strong and effective as ever. (Wait, that appeared strange.)
In 2012 Corvette model of two models for each update assessment designed to keep them on the front of the fight against the most powerful sports car. Z06 Z07 package is going to get a new name ("Ultimate Performance Package") and added Cup-style wheels and a ZR1 Performance Traction Management system for carbon-ceramic brakes by Brembo, and Magnetic Ride Control, which in 2011 Z07 package. Furthermore, the Z07 package is replaced by optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup ZP that up to eight percent more corners to add stability to the potential to 'Vette heart valve defect of 1.1 g of pulling a circular drive.
ZR1, for its part, gets a new option group called the Enhanced Performance Package, includes Michelin Pilot Sport Cup and the silver cup style wheels with Z07 package, along with the close ratio six-speed (regular ZR1s get a new six-speed with the larger of the fifth and sixth gear for better highway mileage).
The other big news in 2012 as' Vette is the Centennial Special Edition package for the Grand Sport, Z06s, models ZR1s regular and LT. Publication on the occasion of 100 years since the founding of the Chevrolet adds Centennial of Magnetic Ride Control, Red brake calipers, black leather seats with suede inserts, a few stamps to paint (including the vaguely creepy face of Louis Chevrolet in circles and the B-pillar), and Carbon Flash Metallic Black. Incidentally, the Centennial, the only way black Corvette for sale this year, Chevy is moving color from the list of options . Maybe they want to target people hold the power face of Louis Chevrolet cars.
On top of these updates all the places corvette news and the new steering wheel, which hopefully will end decades of complaints by GM installing seats less than the supporting lines of the nature of the parents dance. From generation C7 Corvette a few years (or so it seems, based on interviews with management Chevy), the changes should help to C6 remain relevant in the meantime
