Toyota Prius hybrid was a big hit, not only here but around the world, even if the guys car the Prius has a critical problem: It looks stupid.

Of course, its shape became more complex iconic symbol for low emissions and economical driving, so I know all your friends, neighbors and business partners that you're a good person to lead it. High profile recognition of the Prius is one of the main reasons people are attracted to them.

But for those of us dig, cool cars, this is a problem. In 2011, Lexus came to the rescue with well-designed and extremely compact powered hybrid, the burden of proof Dork removed, even if it is saddled with a clumsy name: 200h CT. It just does not have the same ring as "Prius."

CT, as I call it, is a handsome four-door sedan that a special hybrid that is, there is no confusion of regular gas powered version of the cause. View may not be as unique as the Prius, but at least those who recognize it, I know that is a hybrid, and nothing more. What I think is important for those who want to be seen as good people.

With fuel prices hovering around $ 4 per gallon on average, maybe a nice Lexus Hybrid looks just fill the bill. notes that CT is the only Lexus luxury hybrid compact on the market so far.

CT is a neat all excellence makes the Prius, with a seamless exchange of fuel and energy, and modes or more efficient or better performance. Like the Prius, its highest efficiency is in a city where the electric motor has a larger role than in highway driving, when a small gas engine has most of the heavy lifting.

My only problem with CT driveability as a rubber continuously variable transmission, which the gas engine is groaning like a wounded buffalo, when under hard acceleration or hill climbing complaints loudly and continuously at high speeds. Really.

I know, the CVT to ensure effective fuel-saving technology, compared with a normal multi-speed manual or automatic, but too sick to go with all the moans and groans. I think for car geeks like me who can stick shift Lexus, especially in the case of the recreation vehicle.
