The fastest car in the world is now the Bugatti Veyron supercar, the 268 hours in a mile cool watches.
But a new super sports car designed by SSC - the nickname of "Tuatara" - could claim the crown with a theory hyperspeed Bugatti (still unconfirmed) 275 mph claim.
"Most manufacturers use essentially the same basic model and the shape of the body for up to 10 years, while only small refinements to make each year," said Jerod Shelby SSC Founder.
"After only three years of production with the SSC Ultimate Aero Tuatara is all about monumental change in the areas of refinement, the design, aerodynamics and all around performance in a pure state."
Tuatara Other specs include:
- carbon fiber wrapped around a carbon fiber chassis.
- Accident aluminum structures.
- Carbon fiber wheels.
- Engine - Bi-turbo, 7.0-liter V-8, 1350 hp.
- Drive - to the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual.
