This year, we reported a rumor on the use of the Subaru WRX STI 216 for the new sports car jointly developed with Toyota (the most publicized variant "FT-86). It seems a case of misinterpretation, like Toshio Masuda, senior general manager of product planning at Subaru, has proposed that the car will receive the package tuner STI.
He said the company expects a longer life cycle than the average for the car to look at the performance of different packages to keep even the STI version, for the supply of new over time.
The receiver package offers TSI usually over-nutrition, low profile tires, brakes and suspension the most powerful sport. However, it is doubtful that a turbo Subaru officials claim is the original concept vehicle with a naturally aspirated engine to remain in line with the legendary AE-86, which honors him.
Subaru is the official production version of the Tokyo Motor Show to see in December.
